VIP Peer Mentor Opportunity

Are you a returning VIP student ready to lead and support others? The VIP Peer Mentor role is a professional, paid opportunity to mentor peers, assist faculty, and help grow the VIP community at Florida Atlantic.

What Peer Mentors Do

Peer Mentors serve as ambassadors of the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry (OURI) and the VIP Program. They help foster a supportive, inclusive research environment by:

Mentoring students on research and transitioning to 91��Ƭ��
Supporting one section of the VIP SLS course in Fall as a TA
Assisting a VIP research team (non-grading role)
Helping with Canvas, student writing, and classroom support
Participating in outreach events and program planning
Attending biweekly TA meetings and monthly check-ins with VIP staff
Meeting regularly with their assigned VIP team

Time Commitment

Term is Fall 2025 – Spring 2026
5–10 hours per week, including class attendance, meetings, and mentoring
Peer Mentors are paid��a maximum of $750 per semester. Hours must be submitted bi-weekly through Workday.
