The Florida–Puerto Rico District ITE Student Leadership Summit (SLS) 2026, hosted by the University of Central Florida (UCF) ITE Student Chapter on February 6–7, 2026, brought together more than 60 attendees, including a large and diverse group of transportation students, faculty, and industry professionals from across the state of Florida. The event provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and leadership development, helping to strengthen connections between academia and industry while inspiring the next generation of transportation professionals.

The summit featured distinguished speakers from both practice and academia, including Mr. John Tyler, FDOT District 5 Secretary; Mr. Steve Kuciemba, Executive Director & CEO of ITE; and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty, Pegasus Professor at UCF, highlighting real-world insights and emerging trends in transportation. The ITE 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ Student Chapter actively participated in the symposium by competing in the Traffic Bowl competition. Additionally, the ITE 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ delegation, under the guidance of its advisor, Dr. Evangelos I. Kaisar, Professor, Department Chair, and Executive Director of FMRI at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§, further contributed to the event’s impact by engaging in discussions, fostering collaboration, and representing 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ within the broader professional community.
